Clients:  Purina (Beneful, Petcentric), Nestlé Portfolio, Getty Images

Year: July 2015 - October 2016

As a Social Strategist at Deep Focus, I led social strategy across a diverse portfolio of pet and CPG brands, serving as the team's dedicated trend forecaster. My responsibilities included delivering weekly morning trend briefings to ensure our creative output remained ahead of algorithm changes and providing clients with real-time cultural insights. I was proficient in developing and writing cutting-edge campaigns and social media content with a strong emphasis on innovation.

A core aspect of my role involved crafting, drafting, and executing comprehensive social media editorial calendars. I was responsible for writing various forms of content, including short and long-form social media/website copy, taglines, CTAs, and compelling headlines. I collaborated closely with creative teams, including creative directors, art directors, producers, and other copywriters, to concept and develop original branded content and social/digital campaigns. Working hand-in-hand with account and strategy teams, I ensured that brand voice and creative concepts consistently aligned with client expectations. I also managed interns and junior writers, guiding their development. Within Moment Studio, I specialized in ideating and overseeing brand editorial content, building and optimizing social content strategy unique to various channels and platforms, regularly identifying opportunities for influencer engagement and real-time initiatives, and developing POVs for new content opportunities on emerging and existing channels.

Blending Brand Legacy with Cultural Relevance for Major CPG and Media Brands

Clients: Purina (Beneful, Petcentric), Nestlé Portfolio, Getty Images

Project: Content Strategy, Trend Forecasting, and Real-Time Engagement

MY APPROACH

My approach at Deep Focus was deeply rooted in data-backed, platform-native insights, and I consistently reported directly to senior leadership. I focused on translating pet parent behaviors into meaningful brand engagement for pet brands like Purina and its sub-brands (Beneful, Petcentric). This involved a strategic blend of evergreen storytelling and timely, meme-driven content that consistently increased shareability and platform performance.

For Nestlé's diverse portfolio of heritage products, I developed socially fluent playbooks that modernized their perception through trend-led activations on Facebook and Instagram. This demonstrated how even established brands could thrive in culture by adopting the right voice and visual strategy. As the team's go-to trend forecaster, I delivered weekly morning trend briefings that kept our creative output algorithm-proof and gave clients a real-time pulse on cultural shifts.

One of my high-stakes projects was with Getty Images leading into the 2016 Olympics. I partnered with the client almost daily, aligning editorial priorities and crafting a content approach that repositioned Getty as an image archive and a dynamic, real-time Olympic storyteller. Across all clients and categories, my consistent focus was to bring structure to strategy, relevance to legacy brands, and sharp cultural insight to every post.
